Avery’s birthday started yesterday with some gifts and phone calls; then Avery headed to camp – where she got sung to, shared popsicles, and was reportedly treated extra special. (“I got to be line leader,” she excitedly told me when I picked her up. “And [teacher] Mandy gave me a birthday hug!”) We took her out for a birthday dinner and blew out candles – then it was off to bed for Miss Four Year Old. The big celebration happens on Saturday; luckily we have a few days to rest up for that.
