A recent conversation between me and the little one.

M: “Avery, can I tell you something?”
A, smiling: “I love you?”
M: “How did you know I was going to say that?!”
A: “Cuz you always say that.” (pause) “And sometimes you say, ‘Oh my gosh, you’re so cute.'”

I’m nothing if not predictable.
