The girls’ preschool is very San Francisco Giant-friendly – many of the teachers are big fans and regularly wear Giants clothing, the school often has designated Giants or orange-and-black days, and the director has even said blessings for the team during Shabbat. With all that focus on San Francisco, I shouldn’t have been surprised with what happened at camp last week. During an all-camp assembly the director brought up 4th of July and asked the children which country was having a birthday. “San Francisco!” the kids all yelled back to her. (Er, perhaps some geography lessons are in store for these little ones.)
