See what I mean?

Last week, I commented several times to Q that I was concerned Zoe wasn’t smiling more. I was worried she was a serious child – or perhaps just not a terribly happy one. Q told me to have patience, as all the baby books say six weeks is the age at which most kids discover their smile… Turns out the books were correct! Ever since her Sat. bath (at age six weeks, two days), it’s been Smile Central here. Zoe spent a good hour smiling at her dad last night (she loves it when he whistles and makes big-eye faces), and this morning she couldn’t stop smiling at me as I fed and then changed her. I can’t tell you how much fun it is to see her bright little face!
On a related note, I commented here a few days ago that I was getting a little frustrated with the “sameness” of Zoe’s activities (and our routine). The past few days, though, have been much more exciting. Not only is she smiling more, but she’s also “talking” more than ever before – and she’s just generally more entertaining to be around. If she’s this fun now, I can imagine how thrilling it will be when she hits other milestones and starts talking for real! (Not that I want to rush things…)
Before I go, I’m posting another pic taken on Sat. She’s not smiling here, but she *is* showing off her cute faux-fur coat (a favorite of her dad’s).
