Zoe’s first (real) crawl!

Monday, July 16th, 2007

Zoe reached another milestone while on vacation – our little worm decided she was ready to crawl! She has already been rolling, grabbing, and reaching for everything in sight, and now she can even get things far away. Check out the video…

Lazy River Fun

Monday, July 16th, 2007

As I mentioned in my last post, Zoe loved the Lazy River. We bought her a floating tube with shade before going to Phoenix, and it was a big hit. I don’t know how much Zoe could have been in the 115 degree heat without it. Below are a few pictures, and many more to come.

On vacation

Sunday, July 15th, 2007

Zoe had her first true vaction this past weekend. We all spent a long weekend in beautiful (and hot) Phoenix, AZ. Her favorite part was the Lazy River. She took it true to name and every morning floated down the river and took a nap (very cute!). Anyway, lots more to come with pictures and videos, but I wanted to let everyone know where we have been for the past four days.

Catching up

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

Another busy week, and there’s still a lot to catch everyone up on. As mentioned below, Zoe’s PopPop was here over the weekend – and we had a lot of fun during his visit. Highlights for Zoe included bath-time (always an experience with PopPop), the AllStar FanFest and two firsts: her first Muni ride and her first taste of solid, non-baby food: egg! Zoe had a great time; check out the evidence below.

Fanfest Fun

Monday, July 9th, 2007

As some of you know, the MLB All-Star game is in San Francisco this year. With the All-Star game also comes the Fanfest – MLB fun in a three story high convention center! Zoe and PopPop were the talk of the town…

Drinkin’ with PopPop

Sunday, July 8th, 2007

Last night we all went out to dinner and Zoe got a chance to use a straw for the first time. Here is PopPop showing her the ropes.

We are off to the MLB All-Star Fanfest today, so I am sure there will be plenty more video and pics to follow…

What’s Zoe been up to?

Saturday, July 7th, 2007

As you may or may not know, Zoe had a visit from her PopPop this weekend. So, she’s just been hanging out…literally. Check her out in this pic!

Plenty more to come…

‘Twas a Happy Fourth

Thursday, July 5th, 2007

Another first holiday for Zoe! After Zoe’s looooong afternoon nap yesterday (“Zoe, wake up already!” I couldn’t help but think), the three of us headed to a friend’s BBQ in Dolores Park. It was a gorgeous, summery day (sunny and 80 degrees), and it felt like the entire city had come out to play. Zoe seemed to really enjoy herself; in fact, she was so exhausted from the day’s activities that she slept right through that evening’s firework display! (At least her parents got to enjoy it.)

A Tall Cool One

Thursday, July 5th, 2007

Zoe and I play every morning before work. Lots of times she likes to jump in her Exersaucer. Yesterday I noticed that she is looking pretty tall in there. Anyone else think she is getting big?

Within the last week, I’ve chatted with two different people with 3-week-old babies. Both of them, upon hearing about Zoe – who is ancient in comparison to their children – said the same thing to me: “I didn’t realize it would be so difficult” and “When does it get better?” I assured both that it *does* indeed get easier (the 3-month-mark really is something to look forward to), and I also gave a few pointers. (For example: Had they tried bouncing with their babies? Bouncing on an exercise ball worked wonders with Zoe.) After both conversations, I found myself smiling, reminiscing and then feeling thankful that Zoe is no longer in that “newborn” phase. (As much as I loved my time with Zoe then, older babies really are so much more enjoyable!) I also couldn’t help but feel a little proud of all we’ve learned these past seven months. I’m no longer clueless! I now know about babies! And it’s really fun to be able to share a little bit of my new-found knowledge with others…

San Francisco 13, Arizona 0, Zoe 1

Sunday, July 1st, 2007

The San Francisco Giants can thank Zoe for their big win today as it was her first trip to a baseball game! Picture 75 degree weather with bright blue skies, Zoe in her all-pink Giants uniform, and every person she passes by commenting on how cute she is. Zoe got to meet Renel, the Giants’ PA announcer, got to hang out with Lou Seal, the Giants’ Mascot, and even got a commemerative certificate from the Giants on her first trip to AT&T Park. It certainly was a day to remember and since she probably won’t, we’ll just have to put up a whole bunch of pictures from our fun time. Enjoy, I know we did!
