Israel trip, part 2

Thursday, January 17th, 2019

Though we took an overnight trip to Masada and the Dead Sea (photos coming soon) and a day trip to Jerusalem with Pop Pop (see second- and third-to-last photos), we spent most of our time exploring and wandering around Tel Aviv – as well as relaxing and eating. It rained a bit during our 10 days there, but we didn’t let that stop us!

Israel trip, part 1

Tuesday, January 15th, 2019

After a difficult year and super busy December, our long-planned trip to Israel and Spain came at the perfect time. We left on Christmas Eve Day, which is a fantastic time to fly (empty airports, etc.)., and were able to get some time in the VIP lounge before meeting Pop Pop in Dulles and heading to Tel Aviv via Zurich.

We had some laughs and interesting experiences (a passenger was smoking on our flight, which obviously rattled the flight attendants; I accidentally took someone else’s carry-on and lugged it through the Zurich airport before getting it returned to its owner – oops!) before finally arriving on Dec. 25. And while we didn’t have our traditional day-one breakfast at Da Da & Da (they were booked) we did have a fun day wandering around the city and connecting with Avery’s good friend Liza, who recently moved there.

New year, new blog

Monday, January 14th, 2019

It’s been a while since I’ve written, but we’re back in town after a 2 1/2-week vacation and back to our regular routine. I have lots of photos to share but first wanted to make a note that an update to WordPress, our blogging platform, means larger (and, consequently, clearer) photos. So watch out for our larger faces here soon.
