Within the last week, I’ve chatted with two different people with 3-week-old babies. Both of them, upon hearing about Zoe – who is ancient in comparison to their children – said the same thing to me: “I didn’t realize it would be so difficult” and “When does it get better?” I assured both that it *does* indeed get easier (the 3-month-mark really is something to look forward to), and I also gave a few pointers. (For example: Had they tried bouncing with their babies? Bouncing on an exercise ball worked wonders with Zoe.) After both conversations, I found myself smiling, reminiscing and then feeling thankful that Zoe is no longer in that “newborn” phase. (As much as I loved my time with Zoe then, older babies really are so much more enjoyable!) I also couldn’t help but feel a little proud of all we’ve learned these past seven months. I’m no longer clueless! I now know about babies! And it’s really fun to be able to share a little bit of my new-found knowledge with others…<\/p>\n
