It&#8217;s never fun being sick, but the worst part is being forced to be away from the kids &#8211; something I <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zoe.browdy.net\/?p=736\">wrote about<\/a> a few years ago:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Aside from feeding [Zoe], I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve had little contact with her since Sat. night (thank God for Q!) \u00e2\u20ac\u201c and I found myself longing to hug her, kiss her, play with her, etc. I also really worried that she might think I was ignoring her \u00e2\u20ac\u201c or, worse, that I had abandoned her! <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This time around I know that Zoe, who is older now, understood that I was sick and not meaning to ignore her, but that didn&#8217;t stop her from getting upset when Q reminded her to stay away from me. (&#8220;I just want to hug Mommy so she feels better,&#8221; I heard her sniffle.) And I <em>really<\/em> felt bad when Avery snuck in, ran to our bed with a big smile and said, &#8220;up, up&#8221; repeatedly. I explained I was sick and couldn&#8217;t pull her up to be with me, but I&#8217;m not sure she really understood.<\/p>\n<p>I hate the thought of missing even a day out of my kids&#8217; lives, but the good news is that I&#8217;m starting to feel better.
