High-heels were on Zoe’s mind again<\/a> yesterday morning. The following exchange occurred as we were walking down the stairs, and it made me realize two things: we haven’t heard the last of this topic, and Zoe’s going to be really<\/em> tough to argue with when she’s older!<\/p>\n

Z, eyeing my shoes: “Can I get high heels, Mommy?”
\nM: “They’re just for grown-ups, honey. I don’t even think they make high heels for kids.” (Note: they do<\/em>.)
\nZ: “But I can get small <\/em>heels.”
\nM: “No – those are still for when you’re bigger. You need to be tall and strong in order to support yourself in heels.”
\nZ: “What does ‘support’ mean?”
\nM: “Oh, it just means that you’re able to carry yourself. Er, anyway (trying a different argument<\/em>), you can’t really run in heels, and you need to be able to run fast on the playground.”
