And so when Q asked what I wanted for Mother&#8217;s Day last weekend, my answer was clear: to get out of the house! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The four of us headed down to Los Gatos, where it was sunny and warm and most of the parks were open. (Avery&#8217;s comment when we began the 50-minute drive: &#8220;I forgot what it felt like riding in the car.&#8221;) Staying a safe distance away from others and donning masks, we took a walk with Maddie, who was thrilled to run and roll around in the grass, and picnicked in the park. It reminded me of our pre-COVID days, and the icing on the cake was when we got home and the girls cooked me and Q a three-course dinner.
