I would, I told her (the topic was right up my feminist alley) but I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think much of it until a few days after the funeral, when I opened up their mailbox&#8230; and found the book inside. It turns out she had ordered it &#8211; likely to read herself and then to hand over to us &#8211; the night before their accident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Opening that package remains one of my most bittersweet memories ever, and when I came home after the funeral I brought with me not only the book but the Amazon box it came in. Both book and box then sat on my shelf for many, many months (I wasn&#8217;t ready to read it) but a few months ago I read a little to the girls and then handed it over to Zoe to read on her own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To me, The Confidence Code is a reminder of my mom&#8217;s love for her granddaughters and her desire for them to be confident and strong.
