The other day, for example, I was\u00c2\u00a0rushing to get ready for work\u00c2\u00a0when Zoe said to me, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Mama, will you play with me?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d My instinct was to say &#8220;no,&#8221; that I wanted to\u00c2\u00a0but couldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t \u00e2\u20ac\u201c there were lunches to make, showers to take, and e-mails to check \u00e2\u20ac\u201c but I instead took a quick breath and said, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Sure.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d We wound up not playing for long (and I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t\u00c2\u00a0remember what we actually did together), but I like to think even those few minutes made a difference to her.
