As our recent houseguests know, I wasn&#8217;t thrilled with the prospect of this happening: Her body still seems to need\u00c2\u00a0the rest\u00c2\u00a0(she sometimes\u00c2\u00a0sleeps on weekend afternoons for two or\u00c2\u00a0three hours), and it feels so <em>early <\/em>for her to give it up. (Zoe was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zoe.browdy.net\/?p=6157\">just shy of four<\/a> when she\u00c2\u00a0stopped napping at\u00c2\u00a0school and\u00c2\u00a0even older\u00c2\u00a0when she gave up her weekend naps.) Plus, of course, she&#8217;s my <em>baby<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Still, after being nudged by Q and having Avery ask me several days in a row why she <em>had<\/em> to nap (&#8220;Zoe doesn&#8217;t have to; it&#8217;s not fair&#8221;), I agreed to try it out. And the truth is that it&#8217;s gone well: She&#8217;s super excited to get to play with the &#8220;non-nappers&#8221; at school, she&#8217;s not too grumpy by bedtime, and perhaps most importantly she&#8217;s so proud of the new development.
