{"id":148,"date":"2006-12-02T11:12:19","date_gmt":"2006-12-02T18:12:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.zoe.browdy.net\/?p=148"},"modified":"2006-12-02T11:16:00","modified_gmt":"2006-12-02T18:16:00","slug":"some-early-observations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.zoe.browdy.net\/?p=148","title":{"rendered":"Some early observations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve learned quite a few things during this first week of motherhood, and I thought I&#8217;d post a few observations here.<\/p>\n<p>-I think we\u00c2\u00a0lucked out and got a pretty mellow baby. (She&#8217;s eating every 3-3.5 hours and then sleeping right afterwards &#8211; and she doesn&#8217;t cry as often as I thought she would.) Her doctor keeps commenting that Zoe is mellow like her parents, which makes me laugh. (If only she knew&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p>-Even with a good\u00c2\u00a0baby, and a relatively good amount of sleep, it&#8217;s exhausting having a newborn! The 3 AM feeding is the hardest.<\/p>\n<p>-Everything takes twice (or three times) as long to do with a\u00c2\u00a0baby. I can&#8217;t\u00c2\u00a0believe how long it takes for all of us to get ready for her doctor&#8217;s appointment, for example.<\/p>\n<p>-Zoe is a real porker &#8211; she eats tons. (I guess I shouldn&#8217;t be surprised, as my mom has reported for years that I was the same way. Apparently as a baby I would cry\/scream in between feedings. My mom just couldn&#8217;t get food in my mouth fast enough.)<\/p>\n<p>-It really IS difficult finding the time to take a shower!<\/p>\n<p>-Zoe looks different (cuter) every day.
